What to do with my 210?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Why not a tank of local fish? I live in FL and we have a ton of native species that are cool. Just a thought

I wish I had room for a tank of that size for my wild discus biotope. discus are no different then other fish. more work if you buy small fish or if you want to breed them. my ph is 7.6. I do not age my water. wc's right from the tap with prime. 9 months and my fish are healthy. domestics are even easier as people breed them in ph as high as 8.5. ignore many of the old myths and plain bs thats out there. my tank is my first try with discus and they are wilds. as long as your willing to give discus what they demand ( very clean water and quality food) you won't have any problems.

I love the discus idea too. Neon's might be food for the discus or angel fish though. The larger variety of tetra's would probably work but as always it will be good to provide hiding spots, rocks, wood, plants, etc. I do see angles and neons together often online and in stores so it must be just providing them hiding spots and keeping the larger fish well fed. I've been recently thinking of congo tetras. Not sure if as a center piece fish or something on the side. I don't know if they would get a long with the angels but that would be nice to provide color with angel fish. My LFS has a great stock of them with some fantastic color. Some of the congos I see online don't look nearly as colorful.

Anyway, good luck. I'd just say go to your LFS and see what they have. I always amaze my self when I find a new LFS and some of their showroom tanks that are amazing.

I am in the same boat as you. I just got my 210 and it is currently filled with 17 Burundi Fronts. I didn't want the fronts but they came with the tank. I have been kicking around the idea of filling the tank with exodons because of the activity level, but I definitely have a knack for predatory fish.
