What to get???

Nics are a great idea. I was considering an Oscar as well but they are very common.

I was also considering a Temporalis or Brasiliensis. I knew someone here would think of others I did not consider.

I would have the same concern but these fish are very laid back and I've had alot of experience with much more aggressive cichlids. All the necessary precautions will be taken. If things don't work out a nice school of S.D.s will look nice.

i don't think convict cichlids come in schools...

his cichlids are pretty large and fairly aggressive. they might not look it now since they obviously found some balance in the tank, but adding something else, especially another large C/A male cichlid isn't going to bode well.

I have convicts that school.....
