u cant beat them. Look great, peaceful, add movement and all we all love, they keep the tank clean!

These are Geophagus....I guess the name has been updated....this answers the other post about Geophagus

i got a 120 with a 225 on the way, i have severums, blood parrots, kisser gouramis, frontosa, silver arowana, lima shovelnose, ripsaw cat and a irwini cat with mine.

Ok guys here are some options I've come up with. But I am still open to new ideas...
*also I was at richs place over the weekend and he had all kinds of silver dollars. And although they were nice, they aren't really aren't what I want.

1) Discus
2) Various severums
3) Green terrors

As much as I like green terrors I'd have to say that isn't a good choice. I got one from Mike and promptly had to give it away because they are too territorial. Discus, sevs and geos are all good tankmates in the short run anyway.

No green terrors or discus. I have a group of 6 odoe pike and 6 silver dollars with my 2 hystrix. Great movement and NO PROBLEMS what so ever. Thanks DB!

I know some people frown on flagtails with rays but mine is working out great so far. The flagtail adds color, is a great cleaner fish and grows large enough where it won't be a problem with the ray eating him down the road. Just a thought.

I have a ray named "Scarrlette" now compliments of a Flagtail.... Worked fine for months then one day it looked like my ray was scalped of all pigment/skin on her back.

May work for some.... I however always wind up in the "Doesn't work for others" category.
