what to stock in a 10 gal

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That tank is calling for like 5 darters and 5-6 killis or topminnow. I can get more specific species if you want and also a couple places to get them.

i alrdy did it planted and now im using the plants to plant my 48 gallon that im redoing.
but if u didnt know, Amesbien consists of 2 parts, Kevin and Justin.

I, Justin, have the 10 gal

Kevin is the one with the 55 gal bichir tank, and he doesnt like live feeders, even if they are quality bred.

But i might do guppies and feed the fry to my cichlids in the 48, i heard they like the occasional guppies, and maybe even through some guppies out in the pond for summer, goldfish eat them right?

Couple of small cories, 2 male guppies, 4 females? or is that too many or no because i have MASS filtration.

Thanks for all the great ideas, any other suggestions just to be sure in case i get bored with the guppies?

I am telling you...go native and you will never be dissapointed! You may never even go back! I will try and get some pics.

Fantail Darter

Southern Redbelly Dace

Banded Darter

Greensided Darter

You won't be dissapointed. And those a just a few. Those are a couple of the duller types. Only pics I could find though. You might want to check out pygmy sunfish too. They are AWSOME.

In a 10g you could go 5 dwarf cories, and at least 15 guppies, they actually don't mass much.
Or you could do a the cories and a breeding pair of blue spotted sunnies, or 2-3 pair of everglades pygmy sunnies

Okay, for the pygmy sunfish, were would i get those? I mean i can go fishing anytime. But i doubt its the dwarf species. And as for the darters were would be the best spot to catch them, or to trap them? or...?

ive never seen them for sale so im pretty much clueless.

JonahsAquarium carries black banded and bluespot sunnies as well as several darters, they also get everglades and okeefenokee pygmy sunnies and even more darters in seasonally. try this link.

i was looking at ome of those native at jonahs, how mnay 3-4 inch sunnies could i put in the 10 along with a darter?

native tank sounds fun, i decided agaisnt the guppies, ive been working hard getting my cichlids to take frozen and floating pellets and off flakes. and now they finally are.

the orange spots look really cool, and according to my research they only get 3-4 inches.
