Your Oscar would have a better chance with a Loisellei than a Mota imo.

anything more aggression and more powerful than a oscar is something anyone keeping an oscar should be worried about...oscars are somewhat aggressive yes but not completely monster in aggression. Loiselli's would be better than Motas...well actually its really up to him to choose within what fishes he wants to put...just hope its not a dovii :nilly:

Well after I realized I did not have room for a dovii and mates that when the topic kinda switched. But I like the looks of the motas. How big do the Loiselli's get in size?

hmm as for the Loisellis size...not too big...im not really sure on size of them but not over 12" i think...prolly one of the smaller species of parachromis. Lets wait for someone with the answers to pop in first

A male Loisellei shouldn't get more than 12" in the tank...same as the Mota and Freddy in size but in general are less aggressive.

Nice! yea...I figured the rest of the parachromis cichlids would be around the foot lenght besides the managuense and the dovii which exceeds 16"+

Not mine. He's fond of biting me as a snack.

yea...my lil 4" looks at my pinky when doing a water change and looks like he wants to bite it... think he is mistaking it for a big fat earthworm? :grinno:

I kept my Nicaraguan Male dovii with 2 Cichla Orinocensis, Indo Dat, Niger Catfish, and a crayfish which I keep in their to clean up the left overs...since my catfish has been on a hunger strike for over 2-3 months already :irked: won't take anything...I have not seen him move since then also
