What type of fish can be in brackish water?

Alligator gar could live in bw...would be pretty cool if u had a big tank
 
Yeah sure... a 10', 300lb fish? How does a fish that live in the Mississippi become a BW fish?

It swims. Alligator gar are commonly found in brackish water.

How about a Colombian Shark
 
They have found gars in pure sw. They live in the mouth of the Mississippi and are believed to migrate into full salt to hunt

LOL, you just confused the hell out of me with that statement and the double post, I saw the bottom one first.
 
Just because a fish swims occasionally into BW doesn't make it a BW fish. Forcing a FW fish to permanently live in BW it's entire life isn't fair to the fish & greatly shortens it's lifespan.

I thought you wrote how does it get to BW not how it becomes BW, my bad.
 
I'm fairly sure alligator gars can and do live there entire lives in BW. I have even heard of public aquariums keeping alligator gars in their full salt setup.
