So kids are safe catching these frogs ?

Yup. So nice. Love it already.

Dude im a fish out of water with all this stuff

No but im freaked out with the whole snake thing.

Any tips ? Someone was telling me moth balls around the yard.
Man I'd trade frogs peeping over loud automobile sounds any night......are there any gators in that area?
The kids should be fine just make sure they wash their hands after handling the frogs and especially the toads which tend to pee when handled.

Yes moth balls and they also sell snake repellent pellets. Be very careful around water swampy areas Cotton Mouth Moccasins or even Gators.

Oh yeah no beef with the frogs. Pretty cool.

Havent seen any. Im really surprised at the lack of stinging bugs. This time of yr in DE you cant go outside after sundown, get eaten alive. So for FLA iv'e yet to get stung by even a mosquito

No water near the house but some small area of woods behind the house. I picked up.some moth balls yesterday. I was reading up on the moth ball thing and some were saying that they were more affective than the snake repellent

Yes, very safe with frogs, but with all critters, just make sure they wash their hands if they handle it. Always a chance of salmonella.
Tell them to avoid touching toads though. They tend to have toxins secretions through their skin for predatory protection.

How do you feel about having a pet mongoose?:grinno:

Cautious as there are cane toads in fl. Not sure how far they have distributed but will need to be looked out for.

Hairy caterpillars are another problem. Look like a wad of lint but then get a allergic reaction and end up in the hospital.

There are gators everywhere! I mean everywhere where there’s freshwater. Don’t let ur kids near water w/o supervision. It happened in Disney too.

My area there are rattlesnakes, pygmy, water moccasins and corals. Water moccasins always in ponds too. Every year I remove about 2 snakes from in/near my home.

Thats exactly how we are treating the gator issue with the kids. Infact there was another home we liked but chose not to buy it because it was but up against a freshwater pond
