Somebody gave 6 of them to me today at a swap meet. I hunted the guy down who had them and he had them labeled as "geophagus rio salito."

Can't find any information on them thought one of you guys might know.

I can try to get some more/better pictures if needed.

lolz

sorry, I don't know, but almost any guess would be better ;)

edit: i'm sure this is probably wrong, but looking at the book I have, it looks mostly like the picture I have of rhabdotus, but maybe brasiliensis. Again, I guarantee my answers 0% as I have no eartheater experience and this book is old and has most cichlids in the Cichlasoma genus, which we all know has been revised.

wow, this book is bad. It has a pic of a con and a JD on the same page w/ the same scientific name.

 ask Ken from fishfarm, he's recently posted a lot of different species of geo's that have gained his interest. Actually I think he has a shipment of all geo's sure he can help.

Normally I wouldn't just randomly pick up fish that are going to get this big but.. these ones were free and they're not mean either! 6 of them means breeding pair, the rest will go to the next fish auction.

I think they're just regular brasiliensis.

"The Cichlid Keeper" by Paul Loiselle? I'm looking at the same thing right now lol.
