Me neither

I have read a little mention about them here and there. But it was never very informal. But never seen a picture.

Awesome find. Got any links to the picture?

I think it seriously looks like a Tatauaia, just look at that red tail & bronze coloration!

could very well be for all we know. the thing that throws me is the teeth size... they lack the 2 very large teeth. looks very similar to cyno gibbus teeth.

deff not enough info about these guys..

try the prefix hydrolycus instead of hydrocynus... Im not sure which is correct

here is some information that i found about wallacei.

A new species, is found in the Rio Negro and upper portions of the Rio Orinoco basin. Differs from its congeners by its dark body coloration, the lack of scales covering the anal-fin rays and by the relatively less developed dentary canine.

^

the information above sounds exactly similar to this pic, becasue this fish has less scale count on the anal fin and has diffrentation of cainines compared to the other hydro genus. very similar no? btw here is a picture of a 100% adult wallacei.

what do you think?

Hydrocynus refers to the AfricanTigerFish family.
