What type of Pleco is this??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have one just like it, they are nice fish, but nothing rare or valuable about them.

I think I traded mine for a dozen guppies, to rescue it from a 20gal tank. If a shop is asking $20 as a "re-homing fee" that's fair enough. If you want to get rid of it, "free to good home" is a pretty good deal, or a dozen guppies ;)

Hmmmm i must have been jipped i got mine at 7 inches for 40 bucks which was after the 20% off sale?!?! However it does look really nice i think it might be a leopard sailfin.

Yes, you were... none of the commons(3) or sailfins are worth more then $20... no matter the size (unless they hold the record for the biggest ever)

on MFK i would agree with you, but most LFS are going to sell a 7" or 8" pleco for more than $20, regardless of species.

A shop close to me is selling 5 (20-25 cm) for 10 usd. Its a cheap but very nice pleco. I had one that died a few years ago, it was 18 years old and at least 60 cm. still miss him..

an LFS near me has a 20" Gibby for 149.00:popcorn::nilly::popcorn:

Needless to say he's going to be at the LFS forever or until they get tired of him taking up tank space..Then he will end up in the trash more than likely.

Dam.. that thing looks like its well over 20"

I didnt think Leopard Sailfin pleco or butterfly pleco which i think its call can get that big..
