Well, Acrylic is suppose to be better. But theres some things that bother me about it. Like the cost is more, it bows (And some have said they've had more tank failures with acrylic as opposed to glass). The good thing is its lighter than glass and I guess it looks nicer too.

I choose glass though. Its cheaper and makes me feel more safe too for some reason.

Acrylic. Lighter. 1 bad experience while a way at work showed me that even if you can't see a pinhole glass tanks shatter. In a rage I picked up an acrylic I was going to set up and threw it across the living room. It's been a salt tank for 8 months now.

Glass...only because I have heard other's say acrylic is hard to clean. I guess the scratching is a big issue during cleaning.

I only use glass but that's because the largest tank I have is a 75. I would go up to a 210 gallon on glass (largest All-Glass stock tank). In the future when I get a several hundred gallon tank I will go with a Tenecor acrylic.

I like glass, but not in the 300+ range, to heavy. Acrylic scratches 2 easy and I am not gentel. So I suppose glass for small / acrylic for big only due to weight.

Well, I haven't had an acrylic tank, but my fish scratch glass, so I don't think acrylic is a good idea.

ive always had glass tanks because acrylic is way to expensive. i think one day ill have one:D

Acrylic
1) Lighter for moving, and easier on the support
2) Does not shatter as easy as glass/ can absorb some impact
3) Sure, it scratches easier, but you never see it unless there is no water. Besides, who can see the bottom of the tank anyway?
4) Looks better with fluorescent lighting
5) Smoother; can curve for better tank design
6) Doesn't need to be as thick as glass to support the same amount

Although for tanks under 25 gallons, I prefer glass. The weight really isn't that much of an issue for only like 150 lbs.

I've always gone with glass because ive had good experiences with glass...But i have nothing against acrylic...
