Glass is overwhelmingly more popular. Unless in the cases of larger tanks huh?
I just recently got my first acrylic tanks. There is a notable difference in the clarity of highly polished acrylic.
I don't have any Starphire tanks but it is hard to believe that anything is clearer than acrylic.
On the other hand, I do dread the day I go to change the tank around and I scratch the heck out of the front panel of my 300 gallon L-shaped. That thing is hard to access.

i also chose glass because i use sand although i have a small acrylic tank that has a brushed aluminum frame, looks pretty nice and i havnt had any troubles.
