What was I thinking? New GG in the house

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Fish has been doing very well in my 90g growout with my community tank fishes. It eats like a champ but shows its quirkness by being finicky as to what it likes. It doesnt like Spirulina mysis shrimp at all while all the other fish go gaga over them. It likes frozen brine shrimp and krill. It even had favorite pellets now with the Hikari blood parrot floating being its primary food which I decided to do to see if colors improve. I tried some of the XL Hikari Vibra-Bites and it acted so disinterested while all the other fish loved them. lol, funny fish

So my quandary begins.... I decided to redo my entire stock in the final home of the gourami in my 300g. The silver dollars are very nippy and will be going for sure. There is a large bumblebee oscar and a pearsei in the tank too. Thinking they are going too. So what do I want to keep with this gourami? I was thinking a group of clown loaches... maybe roseline sharks or Australian rainbows? Any suggestions on mixes of fish you found successful with RTGG? Of course a lot will depend on the gourami's temperament

Nice red coming in on the fins and tail as well. He looks great! 😊
Thanks, been using Hikari blood parrot pellets to see if it helps with the red. The RTGG has taken to the stuff so we will see if really does work.

Been following your stuff on your clown loaches, I am considering adding some with the RTGG…. Just haven’t found very many locally.

Cool mate. I’m not sure about compatibility w GG’s due to their size & growth rate, maybe someone here has experience housing them together. I know for sure that clown loaches growth rate is like molasses, soooo slow. Not sure about modesty & other loach variants. Buying large ones, clowns at least, can be very pricey, but they’re very busy & industrious lil blokes to watch when they’re on the go! Keep us posted 🤗

Yeah the hope is that the RTGG doesnt start viewing smaller fish a food since Im really wanting to do a mix of smaller fishes like the clown loaches and possibly a large group of roseline sharks. The RTGG hasnt displayed any aggression yet towards my Boesmani rainbows in the 90g but they are pretty big and he hasnt got to that stage in size yet. Part of my idea was based off the mix of fish the pet store had in their RTGG tank, with the hope it will work for me because my tank is bigger than theirs. Will see what happens.
