What was I thinking? New GG in the house

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It’s a beautiful aquarium. I especially like the white stand and canopy as it just looks so clean.

Agreed, beautiful set-up, awesome fishes!
Thanks guys appreciate the kind words.

When my wife and I decided to buy the home, we did a full gut job to the house and rebuilt the area to fit the 300 gallon. Its an open concept design with the kitchen, living room and dining room all in the same spot with the tank. We wanted it to look ‘built in’ and kind of match the kitchen cabinets, thus the white. Was cool that the company I got the tank from had a white cabinet option. The canopy was super tall and looked strange to me so I trimmed it down to look a little more sleek.

Your trim job on the hood looks fantastic. Nice and sleek. I’m not a fan of the tall boxy hoods but the old lighting systems kinda necessitated that design. Modern sleek LED lights have made for some cool modern adjusts to hood design. Yours looks sweet as mate!

The wife upgraded "My fishroom"... Or more accurately she got new furniture for HER living room where my tank sits, lol

New sofa and recliner in "My fishroom"
IMG_20260106_165849307_HDR.jpgI know they are facing the wrong way! They are facing the TV and not the tank, lol

We replaced out brown leather that was a bit bulkier with the blue leather that is a bit sleeker, love the upgrade to "My fishroom"

Have been feeding the gourami mostly Hikari blood red parrot and Vibra Bites to really try and get reds to intensify. He will get treats of frozen brine shrimp and krill which he absolutely loves. I had bought some "large" NLS Algaemax for my goldfish but used it in the 300 and it turns out the gourami has a new pellet food he is in love with. I really hate the way NLS stops at a 3mm (reality, its smaller) and picks back up with the jumbo/mini-wafer with the Algaemax. Really wish there was a 4.5-5mm in-between size. The gourami is just in that range where the large is a bit too small and frustrating for him and the mini-wafers are going to be too big. Im at the point I need to switch to different food for him that is size appropriate. Likely will have to go to the Northfin "Jumbo" pellets (4 or 6mm) to make him happy, until he is big enough to do the mini-wafers
