I have caught Northern Atlantic Sea Grapes before. And there was always the story of Sea Robinzilla, who was like over 24" that I caught on a Bunker chunk in the Rockaways. I also had a Porgy double header... using a 2 hook rig, got one of each hook
I have seen people up here in NY catch all kinds of stuff... Horse-Eye Jack, Banded Rudderfish, huge Conger Eel, Scaly-Tailed Mantis Shrimp.
And on 2 occasions, I have landed Fluke (Summer Flounder) that proceded to vomit partially digested Capelin onto the boat/dock. And the Sea Lice that pop out of Bluefish mouths after the Bluefish is landed are a nice surprise

One of them actually latched onto my hand once.
I also remember one time I was night fishing in Jamaica Bay, and the fishing was slow the whole time. Then all of a sudden, a mass exodus of Blue Crabs swimming along the surface. They were small, maybe 4" from spike to spike on the biggest Crab, and just casually paddling along the surface. I actually surface casted to, and caught a few. It was great.
Then there was the 15 lb (!!!) Sail Catfish that I caught in a canal in Florida while Grouper fishing. It was big and gray with triangular fins, and because of that it looked like a small Dolphin when it first came up. It was longer than my arm.
