  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
my first was was kind of cichlid which i caught myself in a well in India.i didn't know that it was a cichlid so i released them back after 1 day, when i came to canada i found out it was a cichlid cuz it looked like green terrors (not a green terror looked like one). i dont think anyone else know about those cichlids . maybe yet to be discovered.

Probably a goldfish as a kid...when I got my own tank (10g) I had a blue gourami and some platies in there (sigh).

boy.... I wish I can remember....that was like 45 years ago... my parents bought the tank as for the family... guppies and swordtails I think... I do remember the tank was a metal framed slate bottom 10 gal.... on a metal stand with a stainless steel light strip... a year or so later they added 2nd tank on stand below... and so the hobby began....

Swordtails, when your about 10yo they look awesome. Too bad my dad called them junk fish............

Took me awhile to remember.
I had one neon tetra, and one glowlight tetra, at least I think it was a glowlight. Just one of each in a 6g hex when I was 6. The glow light died in a month and the neon ate him. Good times.

My fish fish was a "fancy" goldfish in a bowl. When I got my first tank my dad bought me a Jack Dempsey, he liked it so much he went and bought another dempsey. BAD move, they were both males!!!

I had an Albino and Black Tiger Oscar, but the Albino decided that it didn't want to live anymore so it jumped out of my tank and i found it near the garage dorr the next day. I aquired another Black Tiger Oscar the same size as the original and they have paired up, apparently. lol

Some tiger barbs in a 10gallon tank.
