What was your first fish?

my first fish was a male betta i got him when i was twelve and he lived in a one gallon hex tank he has long since passed on to that great fishbowl in the sky but ever since i always have to have a betta in one of my tanks. i currently have one in my kids ten gallon with some swords and a japenese moss ball both my kids are already addicted to fish lol. fish rock lol
My first fish were a random assortment of around 20 african cichlids in a 20 gallon that I got when I was around three-four years old. The tank was in my bedroom but my dad took care of the fish (kind of).
My first was probably a goldfish from the fair but the first fish I actually went out and bought were 3 pacu (which I was told by the pet store were just like piranha) and some guppies for them to eat and a 10gal aquarium. Needless to say I didn't know too much about keeping fish then and that didn't last long. Since then I've learned to do a little research of my own before I buy anything.
