Well first fish i ever bought were 2 balas, a bunch of neons, and a african clawed frog sold as a african dwarf frog...Bought them all on the same visit and then started to wonder why my neons were dissapearing

Pantodon buchholzi, not sure what its called in the states, here its known as the african butterfly. Forgot to put the coverglass back on one day... poor fish =/

My first was a pair of common guppies and a corydoras catfish. The tank was a metaframe 5 gallon with slate bottum. Compliments of S&H green stanps via 1967. Reference book was a 1933 edition of The Innes book.

My first fish were 10 litlle carp, 2-3"", my wife caught.
She wanted to take them home,so we did...put them in a 55Gl.
NewTankSyndrome cost me one fish, but I learned quickly.
Now we got a guppy-breeder tank, a well stocked 22Gl and
now running a 180GL.Mostly SA
Planning for monstertank now.
I doubt if my wife had known all this in advance whether she would have taken the lil'carp home!!!

My first fish was a 12" rainbow trout my father brought home from a fishing trip. I was about 10 yo and saw one of the fish my father had on ice twitch. I picked it up and placed it in a bathtub we were using as a water trough for some horses we were raising. I had a small worm farm at the time and would feed him several times a day. It lasted for several months until the temperature dropped below freezing one night. Upon discovery, I ran into the house with the frozen fish and asked my mother for some warm water to thaw him out. She explained to me why it wouldn't work and I got a goldfish bowl with a swortail in it for Christmas that year.

A female convict. Still have her after 781490 births.

my first fish were a tiger oscar and a pacu in a 55 gallon, Had 'em since I was 6, started taking care of them myself when I was 7 and sold them at 13 because they got way too big, the pacu could barely turn. I still have the 55 gallon.

a red tailed shark, but i fed it too much one day, and the next day i was crying when it died lol
