What was your first fish?

Looking back farther I think goldfish with my RES for food... But my first intentional to keep fish was actually some tiger barbs to cycle my first tank a 55.

my first were two mollies in a 2 gallon way back when i was a wee snapper. not sure if that counts, so when i got my 30 gal i had 2 gourammis, 5 tiger barbs and 2 rainbow sharks. the gourammis died within 3 days as the tank wasn't cycled correctly. if only new that at the time. at present i have a mixed African tank.

like when i was 6 i had a 10gal with tigerbarbs swordtails and african frogs
then my neihbor gave me a 20gal ( he had lots of fish tank one was a 300gal) and some convict fry they lasted for like a year then i had to give them back

first fish was beta when I was about 12. Started reading bunch of books on them and then started breeding for fun. Too much school work after junior high so had a dry spell until just recently when wife wanted to get some mollies.
