what were your first thoughts when you discovered MFK?

i thoguht i found the fountain of fish knowlege.

i thought how great it is to see i'm not the only one with a fish problem too.

and i thought oh how great it is to get advice from someone besides the guy at the pet store that only wants to push their products.

and i thought this site and google are the greatest.
 
I was told about the site by a nice kid at a decent pet store. I think it's pretty cool, but hope it's not a snobby type of site. People can be that way if somebody isn't on their knowledge level. Good so far, though.

You'll find that our site has a wide range of people from all over the world. I left a snobby site to come here.
 
My first thoughts when I discovered this? I could simply enjoy talking with everyone especially my fellow Filipinos.;) The only monster I own since my comeback is an arowana.:D
 
My first thoughts: "Wow... some of these guys are nuts." Second thoughts: "I Wish I had That!"
 
My first was really only "Wonder what this place is all about. Got lots of active members, and all kinds of different threads for different heads."
I lurked as a guest for quite awhile just watching, reading, following different things, 'til one day I just had enough and snapped, I mean registered :) .
Been here since.
 
My first thought.. "wow this for sale section moves like crazy.... let me post some items".. hook, line and sinker...
 
I was on another forum and asked if anybody had any experience on Native Fish. Since then I have gone from natives, to cichlids, to hybrids, to catfish, to cichlids again, and then back to Natives. I have had to sell so many fish back to the LFS and to other people on here. Now I'm back to natives again and think I'm staying that way. My first thought was, "JACKPOT!". I thought my 35 was HUGE and a 55 was MASSIVE. Now a 75 is small. I'll be billing Neo and others for my expenses! lol

When I first came to MFK I was not a member of anyother site... In Fact I was like wow the internet does have everything....

The next feeling was great, now I do not have to drive 120 miles round trip to all 15-20 LFS in my area every saturday to talk fish and look for things to buy

Next I made a lot of friends on here...

Then I was like wow, a graduated Frat boy can do something after college besides become an alcoholic or lawyer....

Lastly, I realized I have an addictive personality...
oh and turns out my soon to be wife (19 days and counting) have a lot more in common... we love to keep fish and we did not find this out until we had been together for 3 years and I bought a small tank to relax after a hard day of teaching...


I found the site on one of my Saturday trips in Muncie and Angels and More when someone left a postcard size advertisement... I was like well Africans are not monsters but maybe it will be cool...
