What is your goal? What characteristics do you want your fry to have?

Right on. Flowerhorns are really their own thing now though,... most flowerhorn strains now are created out of other flowerhorn strains or other species, usually texas or veija species.

Aside from these PK Flowerhorn (Petsmart Kamfa) and Red Texas (which I don't consider flowerhorn) I don't see much reason to say Texas is used in Flowerhorn strains. With the PK Flowerhorn its very apparent because of the yellow eyes.

Well what about Silk FH? Where it come from?

Chris how do u not know this.... Thai silk / titanium is near totally texas. They are pearl fh sported for larger and larger spots until the spots blend together. There is no way it could be a zz morph, unless they are pearl zzs. as the pearl in zzs obviously comes from texas

Lol wut? Where are you hearing that Silk is a Texas? I can say without a doubt in my mind that there is no Texas in Silk. I have heard this from a couple breeders/vendors overseas. Let me see if I can find any old threads on this. ZZ pearls don't come from Texas as far as I can tell, so its not painfully obvious. If I had to guess where it came from I would say Trimac before Texas.

I dont mean to be rude but have you ever seen a trimac and a lyonsi? I promise you that the pearl comes from texas genes. I'm not saying that pearly zzs are zzs crossed with texas.. I am saying that back far in the genome pearls always come from carpintinis. This would make us both right about the titanium however, as they were made by selecting for pearl in pearly zzs, you are correct. But the trait comes from carpintinis. where else would it possibly come from?

Lol Kao needs to chime in.

I wasn't saying it comes from it but was saying I would guess that before Texas. And yes I have owned Trimac and seen many a Lyonsi. Although you should look at that thread I just bumped, rather interesting that hybridizing Trimac with Parrot throws out a lot of pearling.

Nothing in particular I ended up with a nice little male red dragon, and a female kind kamfa. So I guess that's what they will be if all works out

I'd recommend picking the traits that you'd like from both parents& finding them in the fry.
You should end up with a decent variety of fry from those parents.

Once you figure out what you'd like from the fry. Then start looking for it& setting those fry aside for the next generation
