What + what = which flowerhorn

Besides, general Texas pearling is nothing like what you see on Flowerhorn even the early Flowerhorn. Its that same pearling that you see surrounding their flowerline. Line breeding recessive traits and all that jaz and I could see it being more from Trimac than Texas. But again not saying it is from Trimac.

You should end up with a decent variety of fry from those parents.

Once you figure out what you'd like from the fry. Then start looking for it& setting those fry aside for the next generation

it seems these are closely related to trimac.I know trimac,red devil and parrot where all used in the original strains.Almost,if not every flowerhorn had red eyes.the white eyes I would think are sysnspilum.the pearls do seem to be carpintas,but who knows,it could of been some weird morph someone noticed and ran w/it.
 
Kaleidoscope, Zz is pearly trimac based fh if I'm not mistaken. I think zhen zhue even means pearl. if you just look at the body you can see its amphilophus based. I think its possible that the thai silk originaly came from just selecting the pearliest fish and breeding them and selecting the pearliest fish and so on until the pearls are all overlapped. these would require severe inbreeding too achieve this that would explain why the earlier thai silk were so weak.
I do believe there is some texas genes in zz types but I also believe trimac is the majority (60% - 80%) trimac.
Then again, these are all theories based on observing others fh and reading up on things, very little of it comes from actual experience. Heck, I haven't ever owned a FH lol

What gets me is - Why people say Lyonsi is mixed in.
Lyonsi have no nunchal hump& always have horizontal bars.

Both of those characteristics are undesirable.
