What will the fry look like??

Yes, both normal Jags but completely different from one another. Am I just in the head? They don't look anything alike. The male is black with lots of markings and the female is gold with very few markings.

that's because male and female jags look different...

I disagree to some extent. This WC pair looks VERY similar to one another. The male is the one one the right leading the female.



Look at the other male. I've seen female Jags with very similar colors/markings to his.



I'm thinking I'll just let the fry stay with the parents again and a few may survive if it's meant to be. I wish I could just get one more 20-long but I promised the wife no more tanks when I bought my last 7'x2'x2.5' tank and she expects to me live up to my word. I'll listen to a few more opinions though. I'm still thinking I'd rather grow out the Festae and Trimacs that I have now.

Thanks he was really awesome...I was so sad when he died. I had already traded my big male Jag in at the lfs for $25.00 store credit. I went back a few days later when the WC male died and they still had him. He was for sale for $69.00 and they made me pay $35.00 ($10.00 upcharge) to get him back when I explained what happened!!

man, that sucks.....hopefully some of the little one take after the moms traits and you get that nice color again. Or maybe the dark mixed with the light jag will create a nice mixture.

I'd need modest_man to confirm, but I think whichever gene causing either color morph would turn out to be dominant, and the whole spawn would look like either mom or dad.

Thanks man! Don't get me wrong...he's a bad-A fish and I like him a lot. I only say that in comparison with Rally's former Jag or Aquamojo's Jumbo, he's not as nice looking as those but still pretty cool. People who visit my home usually say he's their fave. Especially with his attitude towards strangers invading his territory which is the WHOLE fishroom lol.
