What will this do to my fish?

the white stuff is either gravel or fertilizer like i said...
chances are if the plant was potted its fertilizer

i belive this stuff is to arait the soil and keep the ph kinda high.
i sugest forgeting about what else there is to do and take care of this!

i sugggest remove it.. and do a water change asap incase.

There was no soil in the pot...it was a pot packed with this and then gravel on top.
What is stopping me from water changing is people in my house sleeping who need to work tomorrow...I need to go up and down stairs with 5 gal buckets.

There was no soil in the tank...just this white stuff.
I know potting soil and this white stuff is NOT what is in soil. This is hard and crumbles when you press on it...some floats and some sinks.

oh it was lucky bamboo!?! it shuld be just lil rocks. are they soft at all?

They feel hard, but when you press on them they crumble into dust.

it if is the bamboo im thinking about those are just small pebbles..
but to be safe, take a whiff and tell me what it smells like..
if it smells like nothing its just gravel

Tanks are below ground level...gravity is unfortunately against me.

The gravel has no scent to it either.
