Now i know this is asking for a lot, but a really nice store would allow us to special order stuff from their vendors :-D.

btw, where in socal are you looking to open?

Maybe So Cal. Maybe somewhere else. Will do a warehouse type operation with walk in sales as well as heavy internet sales. The nice thing about So. Cal. is a heavy customer base and freight is low as alot of stuff goes through Los Angeles.

How bout a back room for just the special enthusiasts where you sell asian arowanas , snakeheads and piranhas :-D

That would work in CA. only if YOU posted my bail $, paid for a good lawyer, and served my jail time for me! :D Deal?

BOOKS! BOOKS! BOOKS! Gotta get info out there. Education is the key to good fish keeping.

A few varied display tanks... showing what a home tank should/could look like.
A good website.
Lots of walking space. Nothing worse than being cramped into a fish store.

Dallas North Aquarium was built well. Sadly, this is the only pic I could find of inside it, though. I wish the staff was up to par with how it looks.

And?

Any thing at a LFS

I would of taken the 300 gallon tank at mikeskillerfish but its not there any more same with the store and all the great cichlids plus the leucistic TSN :( but another member here has that now so atleast i can see pics of it :)

Or i would go with one of the 180s at golden fish one had a nice tropical set up with Geos and a few others only thing in that tank i wouldn't wan't was the TSN that had a really bad bent nose it couldn't close its mouth :( the other 180 had some nice frontosa in it

longfin Senegal, fly river turtles, and snakeheads.

and free 6-foot tanks :D

I would love to see some 12" loaches for sale. Haven't seen that yet.

I live in Toronto Ontario Canada so I am a bit spoiled what with the kennedy rd Big Al's and the Oshawa Big Al's. we have so many Huge 1000G+ aqauariums and I'l be the first tp say that isnt what attracts the big spenders. we have higher paid lead sales staff, big tanks, salt water play grounds etc, , that all makes alot of money/attraction but what is needed and is the selection of quality CA/SA cichlids etc I have everything I could want but flowerhorns, dovii's, decent RD's, EBJD's, jumbo RAM'S etc is lacking so bad it is disgusting. stores here have over 40,000 gallons of water but for 3 180 gallon tanks they coucld have amazing juve FH, RD, Dovii, etc...arrowanas are esteemed highly but by few. Big Als up here has 20 tanks with aro's ranging between $100-$6,000 and after $399 they never sell or move, theyve had the same +$2000 aro's for at least a year and I'm pretty sure they do special delivery. build dovii's, RD's, and quality FlowerHorns and they will come ;)
