Same type chip as the FX5 so no more . The knobs on top are just pointers to set the date of when ya did the cleaning :screwy: LOL

Thanks, yes all the used ones i've ever seen that are reasonable prices on craigslist have beat up stands, doesn't come with filter etc. and i'm tired if having a second rate tank. I don't have to buy one piece of equipment for this thing and its all new (minus the 72 hours it will be running). It also comes with 3 300watt heaters located behind the background as a bonus I couldn't see lol i'm very excited and the stand/canopy is furniture quality and my girlfriend actually likes this tank. First one ever!

Nice can you give a close up shot of one of the tiedown clips? Just wondering if they altered them as they are prone to breakage on the FX5. Is it still a plastic cylinder that clips into the housing?
 
I just set p a deap sea aquatics 225. It was purchased brand new. It was close to 3k by the time it was fully setup. I understand the concept of saving a buck and finding deals. However having said that I had a 200 dollar craigslist 220 explode in my house causing massive damage. I will never buy another used tank again. I will never diy another stand. Everything will be brand new and factory matched. A little extra money for piece of mind is well worth it. To each his own...OP awesome deal. Congrats!
 
Thanks! Ill take some pics later. It won't be set up for a week or so since i'm working all next week 12hr days. But can't wait to do it! Gonna seed my filters

Pics way too dark in the garage now and way too tired lol also they gave me the boxes for the fluval fx6 which I thought were empty but instead it has a whole new kit with it! Everything for the filter besides the filter itself I have a duplicate of in the box brand new in plastic. another suprise was a giant air pump, and I got two free catfish they couldn't get out
