WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WERE ME????

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well i had the talk with my father and he said i can keep the 55 in my room. I am going to take precautions for leaks and im going to be getting some rubber flooring peices to set the stand on so it doesnt mess the hardwood flooring up. I'm going to do a detailed look over of the tank as far as the silicone and stuff. So that was some good news today so my fish are staying

just a thought.. being in a somewhat similar situation.. I am also getting married here in a few months.. going from living with mom and dad and plenty of room for my tanks to likely an apartment. I've been "weeding out" my fish abit and keeping the ones I am truely attached too and like the most. But the wait has been alot easier and less stressful, because my fiance and I have had conversations about the tanks we will have when we settle down. as you pointed out the 55 is a grow-out tank.. so your full stock list is over for the 55.. you may want to give up a few fish, keeping your favorites. sounds abit silly.. but for me it's helped lessen my stress. and that seems to be the majority of what I'm reading.

as for your dad.. I'm not allowed anything more 'n a 40 gallon in my room. But my basement is fine for any size else I can fit down there. even if your dad okays keeping another 55 upstairs.. I'de set it up downstairs. set-up a "me place" .. You may be surprized but you may end up enjoying it more 'n having the fish in your room. letting your family know when you are down there it is "me time".

Thats simply how i'de look at it if i was in your situation.

In order for me to do the tank downstairs a lot of work would need to be done. As for getting rid of some of my fish that just wont happen. I just started up again and i have the fish i plan on keeping for a while. Most pple will say a 125 isnt that big and when i got mine i said the same thing. My fiance knows how much i love my fish and she wants the tank. I've thought about buying a acrylic 125.

i have my 125s in my basement so i can sit in the middle of them and look all around me and see my fish its alot better too if there ever is a leak or an accident concrete alot easier to clean than a finished room!!! let alone the weight and supporting the tanks on upper levels of the building

The tank going through the floor is very unlikely. The 55 is newer and the silicone looks strong unmike the 75 that broke.
