Adriannarose- The fish are in a 2 20 gallon tanks in my room go figure. My dad knows they are there.

Gruff Master- Thanks for the comment. It another main reason for me keeping fish because my mother loved watching my fish. She even took care of them while i was at college. If i dont have them around me it sucks

Don't let people judge you, they don't know you and don't know what your going through.
Talk to your dad and show him the flood alarm and tell him how important this is to you. If he still doesn't allow it, then make sure that they are healthy and not cramped in the 20 gal. tanks, If they are then move them to the basement until you start your own life. congrats to the wedding and I hope your little sister gets better.

So my dad says if i put a tank in my room on the hradwood floors i have to put something over the floor. What could i put down in case of a leak if there ever is one again.

Get a 1000gallon tank and put your 55gallon in it.

Yeah, I can see where you are having issues, I had to give up fish when I got married, until my husband decided to be sneaky and surprise me with a betta . Love does some crazy things.

Have you and your fiancee talked about this at all? Maybe they will be able to help with the stress.
I agree on fish being stress relievers, no one listens like a fish.
