What would you put in a 220?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
be careful on the clown knife ... i had one in my 180, and it quickly grew from 4" to 20" in about 12-14 months !!!
That being said, he seemed to slow down at about 18" so you could probably keep one in there for a while, especially since they are flexible (my silver aro is 26-28" in a 24" tank and he doesnt mind too much)

you could always get a Jardini Aro, they seem to stay well under 24" in most cases, and they look pretty sweet
and cichla will last a long long time before they outgrow a 24" tank
(if you want, i will sell you mine ;))

Yeah, but

I'd really like to get a ray. I LOVE sa/ca cichlids too. I'm not sure why I would even consider a arapaima, RTC, or a pacu with only a 220?

My apologies. Didn't mean to insult your intelligence. A lot of people do get Arapaimas, RTCs, Pacus and the like with a 220. Actually, I am sure the vast majority of people who get them do so with a tank that is much too small.

No big deal. I know I won't be able to upgrade a while because of school so none of those monsters!

Hey New2Natives I am on the West side near Grove City but I used to work at the Giant Eagle on East Broad in the Blacklick area if you know what i'm talking about. How big are your cichla?
