What, no SNAILS? You are the SNAILMASTER!!! DONT FORGET IT!!!

I voted for African cihlids. Only thing I am against oddbals is, you most likely have restrictions with them and cant house mcuh together.

I'm a bit worried, if your friend is to lazy to decide on what fish to get, which is the most exciting part of keeping fish, how is he going to be excited about water changes every week? I voted oddball but was kinda thinking cactus plant? Pet rock?

5 african mudskippers, 5 archers, 5 monos, 3 dragon gobies for cleanup (they are filter feeders and primarily scour the bottom), 5 black lyretail mollies for algae (1m/4f) AND wet/dry sump filtration to keep the water extra clean to avoid disturbing the mudskippers as much as possible

OR

6 needlefish, 8 monos, 3 dragon gobies, 10 black lyretail mollies (2m/8f)
undergravel

are you serious if so that would be far to heavily stocked. as you would also need a land area for the mudskippers reducing water volume.
