They don't eat any of the pellets (floating or sinking) that the tank gets. They take a mouthful and then spit when they realize it's not meaty..

The freeze dried krill works with me, nothing that sinks.They are not a fan of that

Mine have no problem scooping huge mouthfuls of shrimp and fish flesh off the bottom. They hit there lips against the bottom and open their mouth at the same time. This sucks in a lot of food at once ... very efficient!

if the fish take the prepared food and spits out.... all you need is a little bit more time and abit of starving... they will learn to take it...

cost?
if so,i pay 80 cents a dozen for fatheads and i go netting for food also.

or is it they will be colorful?
i hope mine get coloring like d macks.
if i dont eat them first cus of the fighting.

or cus when they hit the food i will lose half the water in my tank? lol

or cus after that i will put jackets on them and chuck them in a couple acre pond and say stay warm?

Mine don't eat pellets yet... Just grab and spit.

They eat...

- Market shrimp
- Fish fillet
- Bovine meat
- Chicken meat
- Frozen whole fishes

And sometimes live fishies and live shrimp. Not picky eaters, IMO. :biggrin:
