hope you got a zoo, aquarium or someplace to put it when it grows out of the tank cause a pool wont do. They have 1 in an area that is about 10'L and very thick. We've caught 7'+ that took 10+ mins to get in.
What you guys think of alligator gars?

Got to love alligator gars. I have 3 right now with 5 spotted and 1 short nose in a 2000gl outdoor pond. You live in a great climate so you can eventually go outside with it. If you put it in an unheated tank it will slow it's growth. It will grow fast for the first 20" but then will really slow down. Unless you have unlimited tank space, getting a pond outside is your best option and this transition allows you to see your fish in a whole new setting that you will definitely in joy! 
Whats wrong with too much water movement? I have alot of current in my tank with him. Your starting to worry me now. He doesnt seem to mind it until its time to spin that feeder around to get it down so he goes to the back of the tank to dine.
