What's a good asking price for....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If i wanted 200.00 I would post 225.00 or 250.00 and DROP the fish part.. NO one Wants the FISH :(

And when i call i ask the person what the lowest they are willing to go is and if i don't like it oh well i'll WAIT ... But still I believe you would have better luck with out inclusion of the fish.. Infact Myself I would take the tank down and have it ready cause when it goes it's gonna just go :)

There are a few 150s, but they are way to high in price. I would just wait and watch craigslist, and ebay. I was on ebay looking at 150s, and saw a really nice one. I am in nowheresville ID, and figured it would be in new york or florida, or california. It ended up being 8 miles away, and ended up in my home.

thanks for the replies and help tongue and wild. i will take the fish back to the lfs for credit instead of including them in the sale.

maybe it's the area i'm in (Northern VA right outside of DC) but for the last couple months, I haven't seen a tank larger than 125 gallons listed on craigslist. there was a MFK member 20 minutes from me selling a 180 (tank alone, lights not included) for 400! crazy thing is i was gonna buy it if I could sell my 55 gallon.

thanks again fellas for your input and experiences.

would 400$ for a 180 (tank alone no lights) be even close to being worth it? what's a good offer? i was thinking about 225??

I'd say 225 would be pretty fair for a 180, and would personally pay 250 for a 180 tank only, but if it were acrylic I'd do 300. If you go to ebay, then the pet section, and then aquariums you can search by zip code, and distance from the zip code on the left side of the screen. That will help get rid of all the aquariums that are too far away.

Hey gotta look out for the best interests of the fellow MFK members.

If you wnat it now ... You pay more... If you can wait a deal will pop up... As i was once told... And i didn't want to wait hence 300.00 for my 150 :) and It was still completely worth it.. But there are better deals :)

Haha, I paid 450 for my 150, but it was a 48x24x30, and had lots of extras with it. I paid for because I needed it soon, and because of convenience. I didn't have to drive 90 miles or more for it. It was close. Although the tall 150s are harder to come by, and it actually wasn't too bad of a stand.
