What's a good bottom feeder for a 20 hex dwarf puffer species tank?

Now that I think about I do remember having a few kuhli's in the 18 with two puffers and the cories when the cories got killed. Would I need to provide a lot of hiding places for the kuhlis to squirm into considering they can fit just about everywhere in your tank (even in your canister filter).

For some reason, they're not. Same with Cherry shrimp, which you think the puffers would eat. I'm going to try Glass shrimp before spending $$$ on the more expensive Cherries.

So Kulu loaches wont work?

If I were to heavily cover the bottom of the tank with rocks, would the kuhli's be ok?

I believe they will. Mo loaches were bothered at 1st by the DPs but they are out in the open now & the puffers are ignoring them.

Puffers will have to be left in tank alone. The end of your elbows will be the clean up crew and perhaps a small net.lol

Personally, I'd worry about the Puffers mistaking the Kuhli for a worm (DINNER!!!), but is appears that a few people on here have had success with it. If you did decide to go with them, I'd make sure your filters are safe so they don't get stuck and that the Kuhlis have adequate hiding places. Also, sharp/rough rocks are not recommended due to their lack of scales. They can get abrasions and lacerations that will then have the chance of getting infected. Personally, I like otos: they are algae eating machines; they are crazy fast; and I have had no trouble with my puffer and oto before, granted I don't have Dward [evil] puffers ;D.

I'm actually going to be looking for a trio of ottos today. I've got some algae growing on the anubius leaves in the DP tank.
