I have mine at 77 but was thinking of raising it to 82 to make the fish in my tank more active. Will they still breed at 82 or is it to hot and what tempratures do you guys keep your rays. Thanks for any infos

mine fluctuates between water changes and out side temps between 78 to 80 down to 74 at times

id say its more good food and clean water.... i havent read anything directly linking temp to there breeding..

I've seen more breeding in warmer temps (when comparing similar species). But I have nothing other than seeing it to back that idea up.

Low 80F range seems to work the best for me.

if you keep the temp at 84-86 when you do the water changes it will trigger breeding FACT

I keep my temp at 86 and at water change time it drops to 82 in summer and 78 in winter never had any problems and the male starts to show more intrest in the females when the new colder water is added

i think the cold water being added simulates rain fall
