Whats in the bag? Prepare to be extremely jealous...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks guys I'm stoked to see how fast he grows. anyone know the growth rate ?

I remember in the 80's they were at every store, all the time for about $5. I always wondered what people would do with them ( I thought a 55 gallon was as big as there was) when they got bigger? Now I have a 240 and wonder the same thing. They are beautiful interesting fish, though. Maybe someday.........

I was after marulioides but considering it still gets to 30" I took what I could get :) thats one of the perks of a 3' wide tank.

Maybe just maybe if you had one of these (channa barca) i might be a little jealous due to the fact that i've seen a few amazing specimens for sale over here, except the price tag they came with was in the USD $4800+ range for what looked like a 12" - 14" fish...

those are amazing fat homer! I would be jealous as hell.
They also had what was called "red tailed snakehead" they said if I call back in a few days they could give me the latin name on the invoice. they were brownish coloured. anyone know what they could be ?

Yeah, me too.I was never really into them back then, especially after I learned that they did not keep that coloring as they age.

Waaaah! Where are you putting them? You have a new tank? I once had an opportunity to get 2 of those fish about 16" each but I let it pass due to previous tank dimensions. Anyway congratz! Keep us posted on the growth rate and if you will get more. Hahaha! Love them in 3's.

He will be going into my 225 which is 3' wide. Hes just growing out for a month or 2 because my florida gar might see him as an easy snack. I've been after a larger growing snakehead for the last year and the only ones I seem to run into at all are the dwarf species.

Rest assured if he does outrgrow my tank in years to come I would get something built for him, These guys will no doubt be banned in canada soon enough so It will be nice to have a beautiful well looked after adult. I am kinda kicking myself for not getting two. it was 2 for 35 bucks. My initial thought was that one would beat the crap out of the other until I had a big one and a small weak one.

Either way I need something in the 225 that will actually stand up to the giant gourami, he seems to be running the tank without a care.

Heres another pic that I took earlier that Imgur wouldn't let me upload he was the only one in the tank with a broken line in his tail, so he has the cool dot.
