So jelous that is such a cool and unique fish. The youtune vids on them are amazing. Dude you have to perioidically udate this section with there progress. One of my fav cats as well.

Nah, I'm hesitant to get one. I used to have one but he was an ***hole and beat up my favorite fish (rtc x tsn) and permanently dislocated his jaw. Got rid of him. I know they're not usually like that, but I'm just a little bitter toward the species in general haha

I had an rtc when i was a kid disclaimer : bedore the internet lol

Got ripped to peices along with every single one of my fish.......snake heads smfh

Yeah I'll make a thread just for them. I've loved them for a while but just 10 hours after having them I'm even more infatuated. Such awesome fish. Not timid at all, especially the little one, always checking me out and wiggling around the tank. And when I turned the moonlight on they both came out and have been swimming constantly. So happy with my purchase.

And I can't even imagine keeping fish seriously without the internet. I would probably have a lot more casualties.

Can a gulper live in a 40b?
As always it's a point of debate, but most things I read said a single specimen can live for life in a 40b, as they usually only get 10" in captivity. I have the two in a 40b right now, and expect to be able to keep them there for a while, they grow infamously slow. They're also not incredibly demanding in terms of space. Whereas a TSN does big long laps around the tank, the gulpers aren't great swimmers because of their relatively small fins, so their swimming isn't fast or far. They move really funny. I'm obviously a new keeper, but I would highly recommend so far and a 40 b is a big tank for them now and should be for a while, but I think a 40b would be a little too small for life, even for one.
