You should have got one of these guys instead, more colorful. These guys put both the emu and ostrich to shame in terms of being nasty. The Guiness Book of World Records named the Cassowary the "World's Most Dangerous Bird" in 2007. Can disembowel a human with its claws. They kinda look like a modern day Velociraptor.

I am insanely jealous right now, emu are on my bucket list of species to keep.
Apparently they make decent pets if you have the room and you socialize them a lot when they are young.
Do you know the sexes of yours?

Cassowaries aren't too hard to find there's a few guys in the US selling them.. more of an issue would be the co$t to buy one Or I would already have a herd in my backyard.
