was doing water changes for nearly 4 hours last night (also moving some larger fishes around) so i'm just getting back to this thread.
to reply to some of the comments, etc:
- first off, congrats on the new CBGs! figured i was pretty close on my guess given the number and previous info. are they relatively thick? the second batch i got had some very skinny individuals (due to low feeding while Oliver was out of the country).
- i've been in touch with Oliver several times a week for the past several months, he's been extremely helpful in our work. i am hoping to help him out in getting some tropicals, but that will take further effort and likely much more time. i am planning on visiting the farm sometime this summer for other research work.
- we do have plans for further CBG work, so more fish are on the radar

as for selling any off further down the line - this will likely be the case, but the timeline is uncertain as it depends on upcoming work. furthermore, i wouldn't be able to ship to Canada without major paperwork and other restrictions, so they would likely stay in the US (unless we figured out some sort of pick-up plan).
looking forward to updates on the gars!--
