What's In The Box?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ohhhhhhh... those look sick... never seen them for sale before... how large do they get??? Infact dont think i know much about them at all...
2.5-3". They're not predatory, so they're fine with other inverts and fish. Even bottom dwelling fish like my goby, which are tempting to other inverts, are fine with Aegla. They're a unique invert and do well in communities.

Thats cool to know... maybe i need to find some too!!! Lol

Good luck. You'll need it, along with a few months of searching.

I doubt i'll find them, but then again i've been known to randomly get lucky...

The Afer past away yesterday afternoon. It wasn't healthy when it arrived, so I didn't have high hopes for it. I emailed Wes about this and he offered me a refund and discounts for future purchases. fugupuff fugupuff is by far the best person I've done business with. I will definitely order from him in the future (possibly even the near future).

Any pics?

They're also one of my favorite knifefish for their color; tied with the Gymnotus for the vertical stripes.

They are by far my favorite knifefish as they are probably the most misunderstood featherbacks out there and when they see them people would already assumed that they are killers. So here are some info from my very own experience. I have 3 of these knives and yes they are very territorial with attitude but what I like about them is that when they finished fighting each other for dominance they will actually school together. My 3 marble knives are actually fallowing each other wherever the dominant goes. I recommend getting more than 2 as it's fun watching them swimming around. If being keep just one it becomes shy and hides a lot. This also triggers their killer reputation as they become very territorial and will nip or chase anything that pass by. But if keep 3 or more you will be amaze on how different they act. Very active comes out a lot and they are nothing like are other featherbacks. Although when you first get them expect some fighting as it's normal as they are just getting used to each other and trying to become dominance. Also if being challenge or harass, they actually gang up on the bully as they don't like losing any fights. But if no one challenges them they become very peaceful. Also make sure you add them all at the same time as any newly introduce featherbacks of any species will get attack.
I found this post on MFK when looking for Afer care. Is this true? I don't mind buying more than one, but I want to be confident in this info before spending nearly $200 on Afers.
