What's in the Box?

If that’s the question on telling male or female it’s easy…………………. Real easy………….. you don’t!

First thing is to actually confirm it’s bagarius bagarius and not a slightly more warmer water species such as yarrelli ( I’m old school, don’t go with the most recent guesses of species other than lica ) but would say it’s more chance of being yarrelli.

What temp you keeping it at?

I bought it as Bagarius Bagarius and i hope it is one^^
Why would you say it could be a yarrelli?
Currently i keep it in my community tank at ~ 25°C .
I was told, that for Bagarius everything between 20°C and 28°C is fine ?

Well, to start with Yarrelli and bagarius both grow to the same size so if your thinking you have a smaller version then, not true, yours will be a monster if it gets anywhere near its potential size. The only real difference between bagarius and yarrelli will be how comfortable it is over 22 degrees in my opinion. Both have round eyes as yours does so I think you are looking at one of the two. If it looks to be struggling with gasping then I would be concerned it was in deed bagarius bagarius and these are the cooler water species. Some of which I know are kept in cold water over winter months by some keepers

It is breathing very relaxed and seems to feel pretty good in this tank :)
I think what size it gets, only time will tell^^
At the moment i am i bit worried, becaus it isn't eating as much as expected. Only one pice of tilapia since i got it ?
At the moment i am feeding a mix of tilapia and hikari massivore pellets.
