Sadly I came home to my Goonch catfish upside down at the bottom of the tank dead because my power went out for a while and i wasn’t home. So with no flow and oxygen the Goonch sadly died. I got him at 2.5 inches back in November and he died yesterday so I’ve had him for a solid 4 months.

Honestly i had pretty good success with the goonch i have other kinds of goonch catfish but this was my first High Land Giant they seem more aggressive then the other species and grow much faster. I think i am going to buy another one when they come on the market again from Wes .
Nice! I’ve always wanted to try a giant catfish, I don’t have the tanks for it right now tho. I have had some unique smaller ones

The Goonches were the first large catfisg I kept, but I really enjoy the smaller ones.
What ones do you keep.

Goonch are probably my dream cat. Right now I only have an unknown type of Chrysichthys, but I’m hoping it’s one of the smaller types. But I’ve had a malarmo ( smaller type ) , horsehead pim and few other types of uncommon pims I can’t remember and many types of synodontis. I also had a black giant wood cat. I recently moved out of state and had to start over lol
