what's in the QT?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks guys for all the lid ideas. Thinking of doing the egg crate or adding polycarbonate to the gaps in my lid. The cheap price is a plus.

Unfortunately The light hasn't arrived yet. It was supposed to yesterday(amazon prime). will check on it when I get home. Waiting on that paycheck so I can get some polys!!!

ahahhaha! Woke him up from his nap.

clm08k clm08k Aesthetically the set up is looking much much much better than previous months ago ;-) 1 recommendation though. Keep your heater position vertical and bring it down. Only say this cuz Heater unplugging will be forgotten. Then boom.... heater blows up.

Tanks looking great, natural looking im digging the rock work. I keep most of my heaters like you do when in sumps except for the 75 gal (heaters in the tank) but definitly lower it like vancouver mentioned. I'd keep it vertical in the tank to deter any polys from laying across it

So I probably missed it, what did you get for a light? Pics please!
Sunblaster T5 light. 6400k watts. with nanoreflector. I got the 4 foot one for my 55 gal. It was recommended by ocellatus ocellatus as a plant light.

Still trying to figure out a way to balance it above my tank though. Right now it is sitting on two metal clips. If you have any suggestions for a way to jury rig a holder for it, I'm all ears.
Will take some pictures of the current light and strip if you'd like!

3x much better. wow. thanks.:D Yeah before it wasn't relaxing to look at....at all. It was definitely something with that background from the 80s. :) But that's why Benny was the showpiece!

I didn't know the heater would explode like that. I thought I was being smart putting it in the current. o_ODo you have any suggestions as to where to put it in the tank?

I currently do not unplug it...it turns on and off automatically, but is on a powerstrip. Should I be unpluging it?

Thank you! I keep playing around with the rocks. Still trying to figure out where to put them. haha. I thought about building a ledge-like thing, but don't know if the polys will have enough room. Plus I still need to add my pieces of driftwood. Gonna drill those in some slate today.

interesting. I had no idea it was too low! Do you have any suggestions for where to place it in the tank? That's a good point about the polys sitting on it. They totally would do that!
Looking great!

The plants will be happy with more light. :)
thank you! I'm hoping I can resurrect some of them from the dead. Notably the anubias nanas I paid $20 for. Is this possible or will pigs fly first?
