Whats in Your XP3???

i heard scrubies dont do that good in canisters only wet dry systems...how do they do for your water and how big of a tank is it on?

Someone mentioned in the other thread that only four bioballs fit in one tray, but I fit a whole bunch in one (12+).

I don't have much experience with them so I don't know if they vary in size.

I only had enough $$ for Bio Chem Zorb but I will be gettting the Ceramic rings in a few weeks when I can afford them =/ I am spending too much as of late, I only have 5$ for lunch for the rest of the week =/

They are working great for me! The bacteria clings to surface area. Scrubbies have alot of that for cheap. I'm running them in my FX5 and XP3

bottom basket- Fluval "Prefilter" ceramic rings and a course sponge. Middle basket- Seachems "matrix" and Eheim "ehfisubstrat". Top basket Filstar foam 20 & 30 pads.

Oh no tell me you didn't spend your extra cash on chem zorb?

That stuff already comes with the filter. Could've used it on a bottle of matrix or something else to boost your bio filter.

yeah i did the petsmart i went to came with a box that was broken and i couldn't find what it came with so I just bought the one that seemed most appealing to me and my needs (clear water and no smell) =/ but atleast the XP3 is my 2nd filter on my 30 GAL so it's fine for now, really need some new media soon tho. What do you think is best? The stars or rings?

You can use regular ehfisubstra too, but pro is supposedly better
