Same here. Sponges on the bottom, Ceramics in the middle and pot scrubbers in the top tray. I use filter floss as the final filter, Its much cheaper to buy and then just cut it to size.

How often do you guys clean out your xp3's? And how? I just got 2 and want to make sure I will do it right before I give it a shot. Thanks.
foam pads, matrix, matrix. i clean it whenever i feel as though it's getting clogged/not being as effective.
