what's smallest size tank i could keep a bichir in?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i growing mine out in a 10 right now (hes just baby, barely 3 inchs) before putting it back in with my african cichlids (in a 48 gal). Anything that will fit in its mouth will get eaten. Better hope those tetras can swim fast. :)

i'm only considering them, and congos get 4" JFYI.

in a 40G? sounds like something i'd try in a 75G tank...

SIGH...... :feedback:

go for it but keep in mind predation, my senegal is maybe 5 inches and his kill counts up to 3 hatchet fish 1 tiger botia 1 red honey gourami..so hopefully you dotn get a killer like mine.

ah ha! I didn;t anticipate that there were killers! I just thought they were peaceful with all fish too big to eat... and I think i'll stick to just one and a school of congos. I like understocked tanks (even though my 10G is pretty well stocked) can anyone think of any african/cosmopolitan plants other than anubias?
