Whats the best way to kill a dying fish??

Yeah, I know that with us in the the koi business with the deformed culls that can't be sold while they are still small 3" and under, we place them in a shallow container with water in it, and place it in the freezer. Their body temp will eventually drop, and they will go into hibernation, and eventually pass on.

It it only painlessly successful with fish that go into a hibernation state.
 
Since were speaking of clove oil. I just got back from D.C and we went to this country Sunoco (small convience store/gas station) and found a "Oil of Clove" jar that expired in 92'. Almost 20 years old. lol
 
A heavy dose of clove oil. It puts them to sleep, then really puts them to sleep forever...........

moat fish kept as a hobby will pass out long before they experience any pain. .
