How long has a full tank lasted you? And what was the RESULT of prolonging a fresh wc? Good or bad

Tank size?!!

Honest and integrity here only, we all started somewhere and like ANY hobby your not the best when you first begin! Mine was 3 weeks when I 1st started (37gal) I didn't test, thought I knew everything, my random guarmi (spelling) had an open wound thus dying... Interesting to see how far we've came or how far we have to go.

Mine was three weeks also. In a 70g. Didnt test.but nothing happened everything seemed normal. I wasn't over stocked and had an fx5 and an aq70 with two sponge filters so maybe that could be why

Well on my first tank I never did WC, just topped off every now and then. Not proud of that at all.
I started doing regular and large WC's this january. Since then the longest I went without WC is 2 weeks, which is actually right now. I'll probably do it on sunday.

When I first started I never water changed. I just always topped off and went about my business. I never had issues, but my fish barely grew also.

Actually I do weekly water changes and my current 50 gallon has been set up going on 15 years with weekly water changes and I have 2 silver dollars that are going on 11years old and huge.

This isn't necessarily current, I'm asking all time longest w/o wc!

As a kid in the early 80s I never did a wc. Once a month we'd break out the diatom filter and stir the substrate until all the physical waste was removed. Apparently this is something my dad learned in the late 50s and stuck with it. We moved in 89 and didn't get a new tank until 2000. In this era the longest I've gone is 2 weeks which was in the first 6 months of keeping fish but always weekly give or take a day or two.
