  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I worked with a guy back in the 80s who had a 29G and never heard of water changes until I mentioned it. He could not keep a fish alive for more than a few months and had no clue why.

my gfs parents 29 gallon i dont think has ever had a wc on it and its been up going for years they just top it off when the waters low. . . smh longest i went was a few months back in the day when i didnt even know what a cycle was. The lfs told me to just let the tank run for 24 hrs before adding fish lol and like an idiot i did and yeah ive come a loooooong way since then couldnt believe i listened to them lol

depends on how much overtime i work. My large tanks had to go 12 days just recently. and they have to go 8 to 10 days usually

Wow crazy to see how far we've all come! Interesting that most of the tank between 60-2000 never even knew about wc guess the water quality had something to do with it?? Or the fish used to be hardy before all the X breeding.

Anyways great thread and thanks for all the responses! Keep it going!!

Happy Sunday, don't forget F1 race in Canada 3pm et time on FOX! Atleast watch the 1st few laps!

I went probably 3-4 months on an oscar tank, I was very bad. Now I try to change at least once or twice a month. My tanks are lightly stocked and I rely heavily on big filters. I run 2 emporer 400 on a 75, and it stays clean and clear.
