What's up with my water?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just made my day 3 water change and noticed tiny white string looking things in the big tank. Very tiny. They are all over floating around and I just wanted to make sure they don't match the description of any parasites found in aquariums. If anyone knows anything please let me know. Thanks again guys.

Not good man, not good at all. Tsp of salt per gallon and 85° ASAP. Keep doing 40-50% per day till those suckers are gone and imo move ur favorite fish ASAP

Does anyone have a name for them and is there any medicine I could add in addition to salt that would help rid the tank? That definitely sucks, but I'll get it sorted out. On a bright note the small tank is looking much cleaner.

how old are you bulbs? bulbs should be replaced every 6 months.....

Alright I just did the early morning 50%+ water change in the big tank. I went down to the top of the Fx5 intake and cleaned the gravel thoroughly. Lets see if that helps any. There is much less of those stringy things right off the bat today. Yesterday when I started it seemed like I kicked up a swarm of them.

i have had something like that before but wasnt there for to long, i think it was because there was a air trap in my hose pipe then it was just like loads of little bubbles.

Make sure u dont overfeed or leave ANY FOOD IN THE TANK! This is likley a result of a dirty tank, vacing is ur friend!

Alright I'm going to hold off doing the changes on the big tank because I think it's making it worse. Ive opted to leave the light off for a couple days and see what happens. The small tank is looking much better though, and I'm going to resume normal weekly maintenance with that.
